Transformers Revenge of the Fallen: A Sweet Revenge for the Sequel
Based on a popular sci-fi cartoon series featuring cars that transform into robots, Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen is the sequel to the 2007 Transformers film. In both films, the Autobots fight against the evil Decepticons to stop them from ruling the world. Compared to its predecessor, Transformers 2 performs much better.
In Transformers Revenge of the Fallen, viewers are treated to a lot more Autobots and Decepticons than the first movie. The director was able to seamlessly put the robot action scenes in an entertaining way. An example is the Mythbusters scene in which Jamie uses a Vulcan cannon to shoot fish in a barrel.
Another amusing moment is the small robot humping the leg of Mikaela (played by Megan Fox) just like what a dog does. Judy (played by Julie White), the mother of the movie’s protagonist, steals scenes and elicits a lot of guffaws from the audience. For some people, however, the supposedly hilarious moments are overkill.
Of course, Transformers 2 is not without flaws. One may wonder what the production members were thinking when they included the twin robots Skids and Mudflap in the cast. Sure, they provide some comic relief, but this is not enough reason for them to be considered significant in the movie.
Transformers Revenge of the Fallen may be lacking in certain areas, but then it achieves its purpose very well, which is to entertain. And for about two and a half hours, the Transformers sequel has given its audience good reasons to enjoy the movie.
