Released in June 2009, Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen is all about the Decepticons’ comeback to avenge for their tragic loss during the final battle in the 2007 Transformers movie. That means another Decepticon attack in the Earth. Quite an interesting plot, isn’t it? Aside from the movie’s storyline, Tranformers characters are worth looking at as well.

The following are some of the main Tranformers characters in the movie sequel:

Sam Witwicky

Sam, the main character in the latest Transformers movie, starts to have hallucinations and visions on different symbols. This makes him a target for the evil Decepticons. In the 2007 movie, Sam killed Megatron, the leader of the Decepticons.

Autobots

The most popular Autobots and Tranformers characters are Optimus Prime and Bumblebee. Optimus Prime is the leader of the Autobots. Bumblebee is the yellow machine that has become Sam’s friends and protector.

Decepticons

In the Transformers saga, the Decepticons play the villains. They are out to defeat the Autobots and dominate the world. The main Decepticons are Megatron and his loyal followers Blackout and Starscream. Together, these three powerful Decepticons assault Optimus Prime in revenge for their defeat in the previous battle.

Mikaela Banes

Mikaela is Sam’s girlfriend who works in a motorcycle repair shop and later joins Sam in his adventure in Egypt.

Agent Seymour Simmons

Agent Simmons formerly tracked down the Transformers’ activity on Earth. Sam seeks his help to save the world. Simmons joins Sam, as well as his friend Leo and girlfriend Mikaela, in the quest to defeat the Decepticons.

Before she joined the cast of the two Transformers films, Megan Fox has been quite an unfamiliar face in Hollywood. Megan Fox shot to fame when she kicked some butt as the robot fighter Mikaela Banes in the 2007 box-office hit Transformers. This role propelled her to stardom.

Soon, Fox became a more familiar face when the second Transformers movie opened in theaters in June 2009. Her role as Mikaela established Fox as an actress who’s more than just a pretty face and a sexy body.

Megan Fox herself has admitted that the latest Transformers movie gave her career a boost and opened more opportunities for her. But the 23-year-old American actress got the ire of the Transformers director Michael Bay when she remarked that Transformers “is not a movie about acting.” Bay reacted by asserting that Transformers has helped launch Fox’s career.

Where was Megan Fox before her meteoric rise to popularity? Fox shifted from modeling to acting when she played a supporting role in the 2001 movie Holiday in the Sun. After that, she played small roles in different TV series such as Two and a Half Men, Ocean Ave., and What I Like About You. In 2004, Fox played Carla in the Lindsay Lohan film “Confessions of a Teenage Drama Queen”. It was then succeeded by a number of appearances in various films.

Fox’s first major role in a movie is her being the love interest of Shia Labeouf in the 2007 Transformers film. Her performance earned her recognitions in various Teen Choice Awards. After her stint in the two Transformers films, she continues taking on lead roles in other movies such as Jennifer’s Body and Jonah Hex, which will be released in 2009 and 2010, respectively.

Shia LaBeouf

LaBeouf plays the movie’s hero Sam Witwicky, a teenager who’s going to college for the first time. After defeating Megatron in the previous movie, Sam wishes to have a normal life. But this would have to take a backseat because Sam begins to have hallucinations on different Cybertronian symbols.

A former child star, LaBeouf reprises his role in the 2009 Transformers movie. He’s a young man with boyish looks that make him a great actor to play the major role.

Megan Fox

Fox is Sam’s hot, gorgeous girlfriend Mikaela Banes. She works in a motorcycle repair shop because she couldn’t afford her education. Fox is an American model and actress who has appeared in several movies and TV shows.

John Turturro

Turturro joins the Transformers 2 cast as Agent Simmons, a member of the Sector 7 unit that monitored the activity of Transformers on Earth. In Revenge of the Fallen, Simmons is working in his mother’s restaurant. After being persuaded to help Sam, Simmons joins him in his journey to Egypt.

Kevin Dunn and Julie White

Dunn and White play the role of Sam’s parents (Ron and Judy Witwicky). The couple provides comic relief in the movie.
